  Classes
  
  Shannon is a nationally-certified Senior Instructor for Silver and Gold Art Clay and will be offering classes in using silver clay this summer. Silver clay is a relatively new technology that allows the artist to cold-work the metal as a clay medium. Particles of silver or gold measuring 1 to 20 microns in size are suspended in an organic cellulose binder and water. Once the final form is developed, the clay is fired at a high temperature in a controllable kiln. The binder and water that held the metal particles together as clay burn off and the metal particles fuse, creating a piece of pure metal which can then be manipulated as any other piece of metal.
